Frontend Engineer

KnowledgeHound was one of the first SaaS platforms to solve major pain points for the market research and insights industry. Today we’re changing the game for how companies discover answers and surface hidden insights from their customer survey data. As the first and only search-driven analytics platform for market research, companies like Google, Twitter, and Procter and Gamble rely on us to unlock the potential trapped inside their customer data.

As a Frontend Engineer, you desire to understand our customers’ motivations, challenges, and ultimately the jobs they’re trying to accomplish by using our software. That involves working outside of just your Engineering team to collaborate with account and sales teams to get the full picture. You’re able to take those learnings and create intuitive, innovative, and enjoyable experiences.

You’re goal-oriented and don’t just code unless you understand why we’re building something.

Success for you can mean working alone or with a team of peers. Lastly, you have strong attention to detail, understanding that more often than not the details do matter.

You will report to the VP of Product & Design. Success as a Frontend Engineer is defined by helping the team achieve key results and business outcomes, improving the quality of the user experience, and the frontend architecture.

While the company is located in Chicago, this job is remote-friendly to those who live in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

  • Experience building front-end platforms and designing UIs.
  • Experience with at least some of the following – React, Redux, SCSS, CSS Modules.
  • Firm grasp of Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Bonus if you understand SQL so that you’re able to gather usage and/or, business data.
  • Bonus if you have experience with Python + Django.
  • Bonus if you have familiarity with Javascript visual chart libraries like Highcharts or d3.
